1968 10C No S PR68 Cameo PCGS. The June 28, 1968 edition of Coin World announced the discovery of this rare modern Mint error. Created by a failure to affix the mintmark to one of the proof dies for this year, the 1968 No S was found in the Mint Bureau's sealed plastic containers as part of proof sets. In the 1988 book Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of United States and Colonial Coins, the author opines that approximately six specimens are known. This is the only Cameo-designated example at PCGS (none have been certified as Deep Cameo, 1/03), and it is a bright, untoned proof. Razor sharp striking definition is seen throughout, the frosty finish over the devices contrasting markedly with deep mirrors in the fields. Essentially blemish-free with all the eye appeal one would expect for the assigned grade. From the Stephen and Dianne Stokely Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
