1968 10C No S PR66 Cameo PCGS. The first year of San F
1968 10C No S PR66 Cameo PCGS. The first year of San Francisco Mint proof production generated an unexpected great rarity. A small number of proof dimes were struck from a single obverse die that lacked the S mintmark. No mintmark appeared on 1965 to 1967 dimes, and before that, the mintmark appeared on the reverse. Perhaps these factors contributed to the mint error. It appears that this error was detected at San Francisco before all the proof sets were shipped, since examples are very rare today. PCGS has certified only 15 pieces in all grades, and the issue is the key to Roosevelt dime series, along with the extremely rare 1975 No S proof dime. The present brilliant 1968 No S dime has good cameo contrast and unabraded surfaces. Only an infrequent minuscule flyspeck precludes an even finer grade.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
