The 1966 FIFA World Cup was the only World Cup football tournament to be won by England, who beat West Germany 4-2 in the final on July 30 1966.

The 1966 World Cup final is remembered by football fans for a number of reasons besides being England's only World Cup victory. The game was the first (and only) time that any single player had scored three goals in a World Cup final with Geoff Hurst scoring three of England's four goals.

The game is also remembered for the controversy that surrounded England's third goal. England's Geoff Hurst kicked the ball which bounced off the underside of the cross bar onto, or just over, the line. The Laws of the Game state that a goal is when "the whole of the ball passes over the goal line", however a study conducted by engineers at Oxford University concluded that the ball did not entirely cross the line, and was in fact 6cm away from being a goal.

Whilst referee Gottfried Dienst did not see this event, Soviet linesman Tofik Bakhramov did and it was he who cleared it as a goal. Most England fans stand by the goal but some German fans felt that Bakhramov was potentially biased as West Germany had just triumphed over the USSR in the semi-finals.

This is a menu from the World Championship Jules Rimet Cup Banquet. The Jules Rimet Cup was the original prize for World Cup winners and was replaced with the FIFA World Cup in Trophy in 1974.

The Banquet took place on July 30 1966 - the day of the World Cup Final - and was help in honour of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and "The Teams Competing in The Finals".

The menu, which features a light pencil notation "47 SH" on the front cover, states that the Banquet was held in the Royal Garden Hotel in London.

The reverse of the menu features the autographs of all 22 members of the 1966 England World Cup squad including Geoff Hurst, Bobby Charlton and team captain Bobby Moore. As well as the players, the menu is also autographed by manager Alf Ramsey, assistant manager Harold Shepherdson and Dr Neil Phillips, one of only two England team doctors at the time.

The interior of the menu is autographed by other guests including several members of the West Germany team including Helmut Haller and several members of the Portuguese team including Eusébio.

Referee Gottfried Dienst and linesman Tofik Bakhramov have also added their autographs to the interior of the menu.

The menu, which measures 5¾" x 8", features a light stain where a drink has been placed on top of it. This has not affected the legibility of any of the autographs. Some autographs have faded slightly but all are legible. Otherwise in fine condition.

This item presents an exceptionally rare opportunity to own the autographs of so many influential figures in the 1966 World Cup on one menu.

A must-see for any football fan.
