1965 Los Angeles Dodgers Game Worn Uniform. A middle reliever who took over the mound when guys like Koufax and Drysdale got into trouble, Howie "Diz" Reed suited up in this road grey flannel Los Angeles Dodgers jersey during the amazing 1965 World Championship season. The jersey chest sports a scripted "Los Angeles" in blue felt, with number "39" in red below. If this number rings some serious bells in your mind, it should--a guy named Campanella wore it once upon a time, and it wasn't until 1972 that the team would correct an oversight and retire the jersey in his name. Number "39" appears again on the jersey's verso. "Rawlings [size] 46" label in tail rests above a blue embroidered "Reed 65" sewn directly into the tail. The matching pants are actually the former possession of fan favorite Tommy Davis, who wore them the previous season. "Rawlings [size] 36" label appears beside a washing instructions tag in the waistband, while a flap tag below discloses "Set 1 1964." Embroidered swatch reads "T Davis 36/38 27 ins." Finally, we have a well-worn cap dating from the era of the offered uniform. There appears to be no player identifier present. "Wilson [size] 7 1/8" tag is inside headband. Imagine how great this ensemble will look on a full-sized mannequin in the corner of your trophy room! LOA from MEARS. LOA from Lou Lampson.
