1964 Reeded Edge "Quarter" Pattern, Unlisted in Judd, Pollock-5380, R.5-6, MS66 NGC. Type Three. 5.62 gms. Struck by International Nickel Company, and produced by General Numismatics in April 1965, which later became the Franklin Mint. The obverse bust of Dr. Paul D. Merica is set in the obverse field so it does not overlap the peripheral lettering. According to Don Taxay these pieces are composed of nickel-silicon and have a reeded edge. Flashy and lightly toned throughout with no obvious abrasions. The Type Three pieces are much better designed than the Type Two patterns. The fields are also suggestive of a proof, and may be as close as INCO came to producing proof coinage.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
