<B>1964 Assay Commission Medal. MS64 Uncertified.</B></I> Julian AC-108, R.7. Bronze, 56.9 mm., 1,532.4 grains. This medal was presented to Harry X Boosel, with a card insert bearing the Treasury seal and "Mr. Boosel" with autographs of Frank Gasparro, Gilroy Roberts, and Edward R. Grove inside the card. Boosel was a well-known numismatist who made a study of the coins of 1873. He is generally credited with the first identification of the Closed 3 and Open 3 date styles within the coinage of that year. Matte surfaces with pleasing golden-bronze color and splashes of darker brown toning. Housed in the original case of issue.
