This guitar has the same features as the Clapton/Cream era 335. The guitar Eric Clapton played on his hit recording of, "Crossroads”, which recently sold for $847,500.00 at Christies Auction, in New York. Examples made prior to mid 1962 when the "PAF" (Patent applied for) stickers on the back of the pickups were replaced by Patent number stickers and the dots inlay gave way to small blocks, are the models most highly sought by Collectors. Guitars with the stop tailpiece are also more highly regarded than those of mid 1964 and after, which have a Trapeze tailpiece. This early 1962 guitar is equipped with "P.A.F." pickups and stop tailpiece. Its fine finish has little to no fade. The Cherry Red Finish is real strong. The frets have normal wear and back of the neck has slight wear on each side, (Treble/Bass). The overall consensus is "thumbs-up" on this very rare instrument. In Excellent condition. A piece of Rock and Roll History!
