1961 Willard Mullin Original Artwork. This editorial artist for The Sporting News is best remembered for his invention of the Brooklyn Bum, and is all but universally considered to be the most significant sports cartoonist in American history. Here we find a fine work in Mullin's celebrated tongue-in-cheek style. It addresses the historic changing of the New York Yankees guard, with Ralph Houk taking the managerial reins after a dozen seasons with Casey Stengel at the helm. The artwork remains in excellent condition with typical editing notes in the blank areas. Page is approximately 15x22" in size. Signed by Mullin at lower left of work.

Shipping: Flat Material, Large (view shipping information)
