<B>1961 Roger Maris Wire Photograph Celebrating Sixtieth Home Run, Signed.</B></I> The widow of Babe Ruth graciously accepts a kiss from Roger Maris as they pose with the baseball that he had just clubbed to match the Bambino's single season home run total of 1927. The printed caption at bottom gives the details, noting Ford Frick's ruling that would attach the asterisk to the Yankee slugger's accomplishment that was only removed after his passing. While it must be noted that Maris' 10/10 red sharpie autograph was applied to the photo years later, very few vintage images surrounding the historic 1961 home run chase are available to the hobby in autographed form. Only mild edge wear and lower corner bends are to be noted upon this Type 1 photo, nothing that could override its NRMT appearance of the image itself. <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.
