1961 Roger Maris Sixty-First Home Run Ticket Stub. When ranking the most memorable moments in post-war baseball history in terms of fan attendance, the game that saw Roger Maris supplant the Babe at the top of single season home run ladder rates right at the bottom. The 1961 Yanks had wrapped up the American League pennant eleven days earlier, shaving the crowd for the final regular season game to just 23,154. So it's little wonder that stubs such as this rarely surface within the hobby, nor is it a surprise that bidding for the few available specimens is uniformly spirited. Short of typical edge and corner wear, this modest little stub presents marvelously, with no creases, tears or stains to note. Included in the lot are two oversized (approximately 11x14") vintage photos taken of Maris that season, one crossing home plate after one of his many long balls, and the other posing with the widow of Babe Ruth and the sixtieth home run baseball. Photos are EX or better.

Shipping: Flat Material, Large (view shipping information)
