<B>1961-D 50C Franklin Half--Struck on a Type One Five Cent Planchet--AU58 NGC.</B></I> 5.0 gm. This Franklin half was struck on a Jefferson nickel planchet that never made it through the upset mill, thus the rim of the planchet remained flat. Due to the undersized flan relative to the dies, LIBERTY and HALF DOLLAR are absent, but the date and mintmark are present.
