1960's Jimmie Foxx Single Signed Baseball, PSA EX+ 5.5. Hall of Fame pitcher Lefty Gomez once joked, "When Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon, he and all the space scientists were puzzled by an unidentifiable white object. I knew immediately what it was. That was a home run ball hit off me in 1933 by Jimmie Foxx." The first man to join the Babe in the 500 Home Run Clubhouse plastered his stylish blue ink signature across the side panel and sweet spot of this "Official League" baseball for a fan named "Vincent Maglio," to whom he personalized the offering on the northern panel. A moderate degree of surface wear to the ball accounts for the PSA score as listed, though our catalog photography should properly indicate that the autograph is not overly affected by these concerns. With Foxx and Ott far and away the toughest singles from the famed slugging Club, you can take one giant leap toward a complete set with this lot. LOA from PSA/DNA.
