1960 Jim Swink Game Worn Helmet. This inaugural
1960 Jim Swink Game Worn Helmet. This inaugural season AFL Dallas Texans suspension helmet was once owned and operated by the TCU standout halfback, worn after franchise founding father Lamar Hunt successfully recruited him against the sway of medical school. The bubble-eared "Riddell RK-4" specimen features six-point interior suspension and an early 1960's BD-9 two-bar face mask with replacement housings. The inner shell is stamped "60" for 1960, and has a markered size designator and an additional code "M61-23," the number "23" ostensibly for Swink's uniform number. The outer shell has thirty-two holes at the crown and sports the state of Texas silhouette logos with a superimposed gold star at the location of Dallas. The overall wear is light to medium, although the apparent multiple re-conditionings make the shell surface appear to have less wear than one might expect. A particularly scarce and attractive relic from the team that would become the Kansas City Chiefs. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Larg (view shipping information)
