1958 Packard Hawk Supercharged Sport Coupe 289 cid overhead valve supercharged V8 engine rated at 275 The Packard Hawk is a direct descendant of Raymond LoewyÒs iconic 1953 Studebaker Starliner. Transformed into the Hawk in 1956 with a face and tail-lift, it became StudebakerÒs prestige 2+2, produced in several models and power trains. After the 1957 assimilation of Packard into the Studebaker line, a Packard Hawk was readied for 1958 with a unique fiberglass nose and McCullough-supercharged 289 cubic inch V8 engine, making it the fastest Packard ever. The 1958 Packard Hawk was the sportiest of the four Packard-badged Studebakers produced in the final year of Packard production. Packard's plant in Detroit, Michigan, had been leased to Curtiss-Wright, and Packard models in this dying-gasp year were all rebadged and retrimmed Studebaker products. The 1958 Packard Hawk was essentially Studebaker's 1957 Golden Hawk 400 with a fiberglass front end and a modified deck lid. Only 588 supercharged Packard hawk coupes with the McCulloch supercharger were built in this final year of Packard production. The
