1958 National Match Model 1911-A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #1002664, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, parkerized finish, checkered walnut grips, with one blue Colt marked magazine. Frame originally mfg'd by Remington-Rand, and modified by the Springfield Armory to emphasize pistol marksmanship. Different variations of these pistols were built from 1955 thru 1968. This particular version has had the slide fitted to the frame and numbered to match, as well as a Colt National Match barrel also fitted and similarly numbered. This is the last year of non-stippled front straps. Trigger pull is between 5-1/2 and 6-1/2 lbs., with approx. 635 pistols modified to this configuration in 1958. Condition is fine as modified showing light range use, retaining approx. 96% phosphate finish. Grips with minor flattening. Action is crisp, trigger is light, bore is fine. Est.: $1,500-$2,000.
