1958 Fender Precision Bass (Walter Becker "Steely Dan") Serial number 30443. This example of a Fender Precision bass was used in early "Steely Dan" recordings. Walter Becker purchased this bass in 1973 and used it on the hit song "Rikki Don't Loose That Number". The bass has been stored in Hawaii for several years and depicts some finish flaking due to the high humidity on the islands. The maple fretboard is very clean. This bass plays with great ease and provides an incredible opportunity to own a stellar piece of music history. These types of instruments rarely if ever come up for sale to the public. The bass is in Very Good condition and includes paperwork and pictures of its authenticity.
