Popular 2nd year card of the Black Hawks HOFer and former captain, Pierre Pilote. For a period between the dominance of Doug Harvey and Bobby Orr, there was Pilote. He would garner eight straight all-star selections, including five consecutive 1st team, winning three straight Norris Trophies as the league's top defenseman. During those eight seasons he would finish in the top-4 for Norris votes, including six years either winning or finishing second. In the middle of the run he would lead Chicago to a Stanley Cup championship in 1961, tying for the playoff scoring lead with Gordie Howe (the first modern d-man to accomplish the feat - Sprague Cleghorn tied Howie Morenz with 3 points in the 2-game 1925 final). When he retired only Harvey had more points as a defenseman in NHL history. Graded 4 VG-EX by SGC.
