1957 American League All-Star Team Signed Baseball, PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. One of the more controversial Midsummer Classics, this Cincinnati affair was complicated by the locals' stuffing of the ballot box, electing nearly the entire Reds team to the National League's starting roster. League president Ford Frick was forced to step in to minimize the effects, stating, "I can take it if we lose, but I strongly object to our league making a burlesque out of the All-Star Game." But while the Senior Circuit may have fielded a watered-down team, the same could not be said for the eventual winners. This OAL (Harridge) ball features the full roster of thirty-one American Leaguers, highlighted by the likes of Ted Williams and Casey Stengel on the sweet spot, and Mantle, Kaline, Fox, Bunning, Kell, Berra, Wynn, Howard and Wertz nearby. The remarkable condition is no optical illusion, with PSA/DNA assessing 8/10 grades for both the autographs and the ball itself, resulting (somewhat cryptically) in a composite score of NM-MT+ 8.5. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

Shipping: Balls, Pucks, etc., Small (view shipping information)
