A 1956 United States Mint Proof Set comprising five coins presented in a sealed hard plastic display case. This mid-20th century numismatic set includes one example each of the following denominations and designs: a Franklin Half Dollar, a Washington Quarter, a Roosevelt Dime, a Jefferson Nickel, and a Lincoln Wheat Cent. The Franklin Half Dollar features a right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin on the obverse, with LIBERTY inscribed above and IN GOD WE TRUST below, dated 1956. The reverse displays the Liberty Bell and a small eagle to the right. The Washington Quarter depicts the first U.S. president, George Washington, on the obverse with the inscriptions LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST, also dated 1956. The reverse includes a heraldic eagle perched on a bundle of arrows with olive branches below. The Roosevelt Dime shows President Franklin D. Roosevelt in profile, with LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST on the obverse and dated 1956. The reverse bears a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing peace and strength.
