1956 Jim Hearn Game Worn Uniform. Less than a w
1956 Jim Hearn Game Worn Uniform. Less than a week after Bobby Thomson hit his "Shot Heard 'round the World," Hearn earned a Game Three victory over the mighty Yanks in the 1951 World Series, arguably the highlight of his thirteen-season career on the Big League mound. The offered jersey dates from five seasons later, and his last of seven as a representative of New York National League club. The gorgeous creamy white flannel provides the original Old English "Giants" in a shallow black and orange arc across the chest, with number "27" appearing on verso. It must be noted that Hearn wore number "21" while with the Giants, and the second digit has been swapped out, though the number "2" is original and unmoved. All other details are likewise original and unaltered, from the "Hearn" embroidered swatch inside the collar to the "Tim McAuliffe Inc." label in the tail that rises above the chainstitched sizing and year information, "46 5 in 56." Matching pants are attributed inside the waistband by way of black embroidery to Johnny Antonelli, whose twenty and thirteen record in '56 earned him his second of five All-Star nods. The year and sizing information of "56" and "36 28 ins" respectively frame the "Tim McAuliffe Inc." manufacturer's label. Strong wear is evident, particularly in the pilling of the fabric at the crotch, resultant of Antonelli's pitching motion. Together, the jersey and pants offer the modern viewer a trip back in time to Coogan's Bluff and the departed yet immortal Polo Grounds. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
