1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible 265 cid overhead valve V8 rated at 170 horsepower, four-barrel carburetor, automatic transmission, independent front coil spring suspension, rear leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 115Ô- Chevrolet was AmericaÒs number one automaker in 1956. Model year production totaled over 1.5 million units. Life was good. Today, the ÑTri-FiveÒ or 1955, Ò56, and Ñ57 Chevrolets continue to be just as popular. This two-tone blue Bel Air was probably someoneÒs favorite ride. The Spartan interior has options such as an AM pushbutton radio and a cool Guide Lamp stoplight viewfinder. When the top goes down, the creature comforts combine with the open air for the ultimate drive. Under the hood is an old-school V8 with a power brake unit and is essentially stock with little modification. Showing 46,114 miles on the odometer, this Bel Air-in-blue has obviously been cared for as it has pushed past the 50-year mark. The new owner can show proper stewardship and give this convertible another great 50 years of life.
