1956 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. According to Bernard Nagengast, "the 1956 is an enigma, as it is usually a stunningly beautiful coin in a P mint run of generally horrible coins. Fully struck gem full step coins are not a problem with this date." Nagengast estimates the frequency of five step coins to be 1:10. This piece shows bright, satiny luster and a slight overlay of golden toning with no obvious abrasions on either side. As of November 2002, PCGS has only graded one example (the present coin) as MS67 Full Steps, with none higher. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
