<B>1955/55 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS64 Red PCGS.</B></I> FS-021.8. Perhaps the most famous doubled die variety in numismatics, and seldom found with substantial mint red. This is a sharply struck and unmarked near-Gem that has only moderate carbon. Such coins are rarely encountered because many Doubled Die cents were distributed as change in vending machines in the Boston area. As a result, most who found them were non-collectors and took no special care in handling them.
