1955/55 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS62 Red and Brown PCGS. FS-021.8. David Lange (2005), writing about the 1955 doubled die obverse, indicates that: "Most survivors are EF-AU, many of them cleaned and/or recolored. Virgin, Mint State examples are fairly scarce ... ." Strong doubling appears on all of the obverse letters and date of this MS62 Red and Brown specimen. Orange-tan color resides on lustrous surfaces that exhibit well struck devices, especially on the reverse. Some minuscule light flecks help define the grade and largely ensure the originality of the coin.

Coin Engraver: Victor D.
