1954 NASH METROPOLITAN CONVERTIBLE
This car is one of a kind. Although it looks like a restoration and looks original it is actually a group up build as a hotrod.
The car is the sum of 3 cars and has been stripped bare, sandblasted and then rebuilt. The car started as a two door hardtop with no trunk lid.
1954 Nash had no two tone paint, no body chrome and a four cylinder Austin engine and standard transmission. The car has now been rebuilt as a convertible. A trunk lid and side body chrome came from the donor cars. The doors have added vent windows from the donor cars.
A 1984 Ford Ranger V6 motor and transmission with a floor shift has been installed. We changed the rear differential to 3.9 gearing for added highway speed. A larger rad was added with twin electric cooling fans and the frame re enforced to accommodate the body and motor changes.
We added two tone metal flake paint (candy apple read over Cadillac pearl white) and side body chrome.
The interior has custom metal flake naugahyde upholstery with bucket seats and tilt steering.
Dual exhaust.
Though originally designed to be a city car, this little powerhouse will now easily do 100 plus kph on the highway.
Over $35,000 invested.
Car was appraised and insured for $40,000
