<B>1954 Harlem Globetrotters Advertising Signs Lot of 2.</B></I> Highly desirable pair of signs remembers the glory days of this barnstorming basketball troupe when it was led by the likes of Marques Haynes and Goose Tatum. Each of these basketball legends appears on the fantastically rare Coca-Cola sign that anchors this lot, one of a tiny handful of advertising pieces featuring African-American pitch men and produced for display in predominantly black neighborhoods. The sign measures 20x36" in size on heavy card stock and shows considerable staining and cracking, yet still displays very nicely. And just try finding another! The sign notes the feature film "Go, Man, Go," the poster for which makes up the second half of the lot. The one sheet (27x41") poster is mounted on a cardboard backing with some wear at the original storage folds and some other scattered minor damage. But again the beauty of the design shines though any condition flaws, and certainly these problems must be excused when considered the tremendous rarity.
