Graded by PSA PR 1. A classic card of the 'Splendid Splinter' in full-color glory, featuring a portrait of the Hall of Famer in his Boston Red Sox road jersey and cap. A hallmark of this set's simple design, Williams is identified by his own facsimile script in the lower right. Although the card has rounded corners, a few creases, and some surface rubbing, these hardly detract from its timeless appeal.

In addition to its legendary subject, this card is famous for its scarcity—it had to be pulled from production when Ted Williams inked an exclusive deal with Topps. Bowman was thereby forced to withdraw this card early on, eventually replacing it with one of his teammate Jim Piersall. The 1954 Bowman therefore actually has two #66s, and Ted Williams has become the most sought-after card in the set.
