<B>1953 5C PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC.</B></I> The relative scarcity of the 1953 cameo nickel is best described in Rick Tomaska's <I>Cameo and Brilliant Proof Coinage of the 1950 to 1970 Era: </B></I>" ... although ultra-heavy pieces are not as difficult to locate as the 1950 or 1952 nickels in high grade cameo, they are extremely scarce." Current population data confirms that statement as there have only been nine such pieces certified by the two major services, two by PCGS and seven by NGC (6/07). This is a brilliant coin with stunning white-on-black cameo contrast.
