1951-S 50C MS66 Full Bell Lines PCGS. In the 2002 book The Complete Guide to Franklin Half Dollars, Rick Tomaska states that "nearly all high grade [1951-S examples] are from mint sets, typically exhibiting extraordinary speckled toning." This is an accurate description of the present Gem, both sides displaying rainbow colored target toning over a base of mostly even orange-copper patina. The author also notes that the '51-S is rare in MS66, particularly with Full Bell Lines definition. Clearly this distraction-free survivor would make a lovely addition to a Franklin Half Registry Set that highlights originality. Population: 41 in 66 Full Bell Lines, none are finer (1/03). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
