<B>1951 Mel Ott Signed Government Postcard.</B></I> The July 7, 1951 postmark from Oakland, California suggests this penny postcard was mailed by the 500 Home Run Club member just before he made the trip east to be honored at the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Ott's simple black ink signature rates a solid 8/10, and a couple of mild vertical creases have no significant effect upon the display.
