For your consideration is this large fold out map of railroad lines in Montana from 1951, published by the Board of Railroad Commissioners and copy-righted by McGill-Warner Co., St. Paul, Minnesota. The map shows routes of ten different railroad companies such as: Northern Pacific Railway, Great Northern Railway, Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, Oregon Short Line Railroad, Montana, Wyoming & Southern Railway, Butte,, Anaconda & Pacific Railway, Montana Western Railway, White Sulphur Springs & Yellowstone Park Railway and lastly, the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railway. The railway routes are all colored for easy distinction between the routes. The bottom of the map shows the index to all the counties and towns on the map. In the left hand corner above the railroad directory, it reads, "Official Map of Montana Published by Board of Railroad Commissioners June 1, 1951" Above that it shows the seal of the state of Montana. The map shows great detail and colors throughout. The map shows good condition with some wear and crease lines from its vintage age but no signs of tears or obvious damages are noted. The map measures 39 1/2" L x 51 1/4" W while opened, and 8 1/2" L x 12 3/4" W when folded up.
