From the Collection of Nick and Suzanne Nicholas we have a 1950s Santa Clara Pueblo Bowl by Nicolasa Nicolassa Naranjo Tafoya (b.1910) (Santa Clara), measures 4''H x 6.5''H, black on black, is one of the elder masters in blackware of the Naranjo family and is mother of Roberta Naranjo. She signs her pottery ''Nicolasa Santa Clara''. Nicolasa was the daughter of Tomacita and Agapito Naranjo and granddaughter of Sara Fina Tafoya and a cousin of Margaret Tafoya of the Santa Clara Pueblo. She had a long and distinguished career as a potter, making mostly blackware and occasionally redware.
