1950s Hazelle Marionettes, each measures 14''L, #1 Skeleton Marionette #2 Robin Hood Marionette #3 Maid Marion Marionette, Hazelle Harriet Hedges Rollins was born on January 12, 1910. In 1935, she took a trip to New York where she attended the New York Toy Fair and a summer workshop with TonySarg Marionettes in Greenwich Village. In 1935, in the basement of her father's house she began a factory for toy marionettes which eventually was named Hazelle, Incorporated. Accomplishments University of Kansas, BA in Art 1932. Kansas City Art Institute, 1933. In 1933, she joined the staff as a switchboard operator at the Nelson - Atkins Museum of Art. She also taught Saturday marionette classes there. In 1935, she took a trip to New York where she attended the New York Toy Fair and a summer workshop with TonySarg Marionettes in Greenwich Village. In 1935, in the basement of her father's house she began a factory for toy marionettes which eventually was named Hazelle, Incorporated.
