<B>1950's Roy Campanella Single Signed Baseball.</B></I> On a frigid and fateful night in January 1958, the automobile the Hall of Fame catcher was piloting from his Harlem liquor store to his Long Island home hit a patch of ice and skidded into a telephone pole, paralyzing the Dodger great from the chest down. While there is still a market for the labored post-accident autographs within the hobby, a tremendous premium is placed upon those signed before that tragic crash. Here we present the most desirable model of all, a pre-accident inscription reading "Best Wishes, Roy Campanella," signed on the side panel of an ONL (Giles) baseball. The important single exhibits a fair amount of toning, which may well be indicative of game use prior to the inscription's application.
