1950-D/S 25C MS66 PCGS. FS-601, formerly FS-021. OMM 1. Under magnification, the upper loop of the underlying S is clearly discernible. Boldly impressed overall with faint whispers of rose and blue in the obverse fields. The exquisitely preserved silver-white surfaces are untoned otherwise.
As with most varieties considered prominent enough for a Guide Book listing, the 1950-D/S enjoys widespread popularity. Unlike its San Francisco overmintmarked counterpart, however, this issue is highly elusive in Gem, and anything finer is a condition rarity. As an MS66 piece, this marvelous exemplar is one of the most important representatives known, and a highlight of the collection. Population: 4 in 66, 1 finer (10/07).
From The Michael Fuller Collection.

Coin Engraver: John Flanagan

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
