1949 Kevin Chuck Connors Game Used Bat
1949 Kevin "Chuck" Connors Game Used Bat. Though better remembered to history as television's "The Rifleman," Connors was also an athletic Renaissance man of sorts, providing brief service to the Boston Celtics of the Basketball Association of America, and to the Brooklyn Dodgers and Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball. Here we offer what may well be the only bat dating to Connors' days as a Bum, as the Hillerich & Bradsby labelling period for this signature model O16 was only utilized in 1948 and 1949. Could this be the bat wielded during Connors' single game as a Dodger, during his only at-bat? We can't state that with certainty, though the excellent use and slight grain separation on the back of the barrel suggests Connors at least took a good bit of batting practice with this exciting artifact. Leading bat authentication John Taube notes strong ball marks and a scored handle as well. No cracks. Length and weight are thirty-five inches and thirty-two ounces respectively. The bat derives from the collection of a gentleman close to the Dodgers organization which also provided this auction with the fine Gilliam rookie lumber. Possibly the scarcest bat that will reach the auction block in 2008. Graded GU7. LOA from Taube & Malta.

Shipping: Bats, Clubs, Sticks, Swords, Rif (view shipping information)
