<B>1949 Jim Thorpe Signed Letter.</B></I> The greatest athlete of the twentieth century's first half was managing an "All Girl Softball Club" at the time he responded to a letter on that team's official letterhead. He writes, in part, "To have a playground in Southern California named for me would indeed be a great honor. You will find me ready to co-operate with you at all times in your good work…" The single typed page closes with a 9/10 blue ink autograph from the Native American superstar. Page shows original mailing folds with very minor separation at the edges and toning along lower edge, but presents magnificently. A very tough TLS, and an essential autograph for the serious collector. <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.</B></I>
