1948 St. Paul Saints Team Signed Baseball with Roy Campanella. Though the Hall of Fame catcher debuted with the Brooklyn Dodgers on Opening Day of 1948, Hall of Fame executive Branch Rickey soon decided to give Campy the "Jackie Robinson treatment," tapping him to break the American Association color barrier with a trip to St. Paul in May. After a brief stay in Minnesota he was back at Ebbets, but not before he would apply his signature to this tremendously scarce Official American Association ball recounting the '48 Saints club. Fellow Dodgers Hall of Famer Walt Alston is among the nineteen autographs joining the star catcher, rating at the same 6/10 to 7/10 strength that is consistent throughout. The ball itself is clean and wonderfully white. With only a single other Campy/Saints piece selling in a major auction in the past several years, it's a safe bet that you won't have too many more chances at such a unique offering as this. LOA from PSA/DNA.
