1948 Babe Ruth Oversized Culver Service Photograph, Type 1. Snapped only moments before the Pulitzer Prize-winning image by Nat Fein, this incredible shot pictures the dying Ruth in his final Yankee Stadium appearance, on hand for the retirement of his number "3" jersey. A stadium full of fans and the Cleveland Indians dugout cheer behind him. "Culver Service" stamping on verso is joined by a date stamp reading "Used Jun 15, 1948," just two days after the event. Minor wrinkles are evident only at certain angles to the light. 11x14". Confirmed as "Type 1" by PSA/DNA. CGC grade: Fine.
