This is a beautiful embossed and die cut Valentine's card. Brightly colored, large nasturtiums decorate the four corners and there are pink, purple, & white hearts and a gold background. In the center is a boy pulling a wagon with a girl and her cat riding inside it. This image is overlaid with a lacy heart; and glued to this is a cute boy in a hat within a winged heart and a little cherub with hearts.
Inside the card is a darling black & white scene of a boy fishing from a dock while a girl swims amid water lilies below. The greeting reads "Valentine Greetings--I think that I will try a line, I hope to catch a Valentine, There's only one I want, 'tis true, Oh! Can't you guess that one is you?" It is signed in pen, "To Loraine from Grandma & Grandpa H. 1947"
On the back of the card is the maker's logo; "Whitney Made Worcester, Mass. Made in U.S.A." As to condition: A couple of the very tips of the die cut design were bent and show slight evidence of that. There is very minor wear to the gold paint along the outer edge. The bottom corner shows a crease line (see photo). One of the tiny scallops on the paper lace is torn on one side, though none of it is missing; this can be easily repaired.
