In 1947 the John Morrell meat company contracted with noted artist Edna Reindel to do a series titled Flowers of Our Land for their calendar. It was their policy to choose a different artist of note every year. This particular year was spectacular! Edna Reindel lived from 1900-1990 and is a listed artist who is widely collected. This print from May 1947 features a large vivid orchid cactus in all its glory. This is a full calendar sheet with the month pristine and intact. It's great to see how they marked all the holidays (including Lindbergh's NY to Paris flight). The full sheet measures 25 5/8" by 14" and the print itself (with border) measures 17 1/2" by 14". Other than some minor creases and nibbles at the very edges (in no way infringes upon the print or calendar) this item is absolutely pristine. We have 11 of the 12 pages from this calendar and will be putting them all in the store. We have all with calendar pages except April and December. We have one that is only the print and so one of the months is accounted for there. Four of the months contain Morrell ads at the bottom and the remainder end after the month grid. If you are interested in purchasing more than one sheet from this set please email for further consideration.
