A fabulous brooch offered in chatelaine style. The dagger features jewel toned rhinestones in silvertone and it is attached to the scabbard by a double silvertone chain. The scabbards features black enamel, turquoise beads, clear rhinestones and a red cabochon. The brooch was likely made by Goldseal Mfg. Co in 1947 and designed by Murray Slater. It is featured on pages 239 & 240 of "American Costume Jewelry 1935 - 1950" by Brunialti. The pin has also been featured in Schiffer "40's & 50's Popular Jewelry" on page 56 and Schiffer & Kelly "Costume Jewelry, The Great pretenders" on page 115. The dagger measures 4" long and 1.5" wide. It is attached to the scabbard by a 5" silvertone chain. The scabbard measures 3" long and 1" wide. The piece is in good condition with no dark or missing stones. There is some edge enamel loss.
