1947 Branch Rickey Signed Letter PSA/DNA
1947 Branch Rickey Signed Letter. A Hall of Fame executive in his own right, Rickey is of course best known as the catalyst for another Hall of Fame career, that of Brooklyn Dodgers hero Jackie Robinson. This fantastic typed letter on Dodgers team letterhead dates to that historic Robinson rookie season, and discusses the possibility that the Bums might take the National League flag. Rickey expresses that he will try to supply tickets to fulfill a request, but laments, "Our ticket problem will be a terrific one since our park is so small and we must of necessity take care of our local people. Please write to me again when and if we win the pennant." His closing signature is a bold black fountain pen 9+/10. The page has original mailing folds and a small piece of the upper right corner missing, but otherwise NRMT. LOA from PSA/DNA.
