1947 Babe Ruth Day Signed Baseball with Ruth, Di
1947 Babe Ruth Day Signed Baseball with Ruth, DiMaggio. The legendary Bambino saw his number "3" retired from pinstriped operation this day in a touching ceremony that spawned Nat Fein's Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of a feeble legend taking a final Bronx bow. The event also spawned to this important artifact, one whose historic birthdate is matched only by its remarkable cast of characters. Surprisingly (or perhaps not), it is Joe DiMaggio who claimed the sweet spot of the Babe Ruth Day baseball for himself, leaving the honoree to head west to a side panel. Joining this pair of baseball gods are Hoyt, Ruffing, McCarthy, Gomez, Pipp, Shawkey, Dugan, Wilcy Moore, Hassett, Meusel, Schang and Aaron Ward. Signature quality ranges from 2/10 to 8/10, with surface wear to the OAL (Harridge) ball the main condition factor. Ruth rates 4/10, with DiMaggio a point lower. The balance of the Hall of Famers are of similar strength with the exception of Hoyt who rates 7/10. A mounting hole and some mild splitting at the seams must be noted but do not affect signatures in any way. The first signed baseball we've ever seen from the Babe's last appearance in uniform. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

Shipping: Balls, Pucks, etc., Small (view shipping information)
