<B>1947 Babe Ruth & Burris Jenkins Signed Cartoon.</B></I> Stirring image of the great Bambino as he was honored at the April 26, 1947 "Babe Ruth Day" at Yankee Stadium is the unmistakable work of celebrated <I>New York Journal</B></I> cartoonist Jenkins, who dedicates this print to sports agent Christy Walsh's son at lower right. Just below Jenkins' autographed inscription is the signature of Ruth himself, just a point lighter than the cartoonist's 8/10 ink. The Babe's autograph upon a portrait of himself bidding farewell to the ballpark he claimed as his own makes for a truly heartwrenching piece, and the provenance from the Walsh family couldn't be more desirable. Image area measures 9x11", with a simple matting job extending the final dimensions to 13x15". <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.
