1947 $1 ICCS "Blunt 7, DBL 47" Very Choice Mint State-64. The first ever offered, very flashy blast white example with strong re-cut date. An incredible offering with no comparable examples seen or offered elsewhere, the last two digits of the date showing prominent re-cutting in the die along the top of the crossbar of the 4 and along the base of the 7, Another example of this type has not been shown or offered to our knowledge. The coin itself shows brilliant lustrous white fields and a hint of cameo on the King's portrait, a choice example even before factoring in the impressive re-engraved 47 variety. This is a special opportunity for the many variety collectors, the only remotely comparable sale would be the 1947 $1 Blunt 7, 7/7 graded Mint State-64 by ICCS which sold for $4481.25 in the Prominence XI sale, the coin being presently offered obviously possessing a higher level of desirability and intrigue.
