1946 50C MS67 PCGS. According to Bruce Fox (1993), the 1946 has the lowest certified population of any P-mint Walker from the 1941-1947 era. Nonetheless, this issue should not be considered rare in an absolute sense. It is, however, at the MS67 level that the '46-P is truly elusive. We have handled only three other so graded examples over the past decade, the last of which sold as lot 6096 in our Philadelphia 2000 Signature Sale. A simply gorgeous Superb Gem from the standpoint of originality, the present representative is layered in gold, powder-blue, lilac, and champagne-apricot colors that are more varied on the obverse. The bold strike is free of criticism, as are the smooth, expertly preserved surfaces. Worthy of a premium quality bid. Population: 11 in 67, none are finer at either major grading service (7/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
