<B>1946-47 Johnny Mize Game Used Bat.</B></I> Weighty war club exhibits fantastic use from The Big Cat's days at the Polo Grounds as a member of Mel Ott's hard-slugging New York Giants. The second of this signature model Hillerich & Bradsby's two possible seasons of activity rates as the most productive of Mize's Hall of Fame tenure, as he led the National League in both home runs (51) and runs batted in (138), each personal career highs for him as well. Certainly this battered lumber exhibits the sort of hard-hitting usage that would indicate that sort of offensive production, as the barrel exhibits no shortage of ball, stitch and spike marks in the swollen grain. A handle crack has been expertly repaired, returning the heavy (thirty-eight ounces) bat to a solid state. Original grip tape on the knob. Length is thirty-five inches.
