1945 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. During World War II, the Philadelphia Mint churned out enormous numbers of Mercury Dimes. In 1944 quality began to slip and fully struck coins are much more challenging than in previous years. However, the 1945 Dime is the premier strike rarity in the series; indeed, it is one of the great strike rarities in all of U.S. numismatics. Only eight other pieces have been so graded by PCGS with three finer (7/02). This exceptional piece has thick mint frost and is untoned except for a few flecks of color on the reverse. The bands are fully split and there are no mentionable abrasions on either side. A rare opportunity for the specialist. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
