1945<10C> MS65 Full Bands PCGS. During World War II, the Philadelphia mint churned out enormous numbers of Mercury Dimes. In 1944 quality began to slip and fully struck coins are much more challenging than in previous years. However, the 1945 Dime is the premier strike rarity in the series; indeed, it is one of the great strike rarities in all of U.S. numismatics. This exceptional piece has thick mint frost and is untoned throughout. The bands are fully split and there is one thin diagonal die crack (not to be confused with a scratch) in the right reverse field that can serve as a future identifier. A rare opportunity for the specialist. Population: 32 in 65, 16 finer (12/05).
